Kemp Porter Buildings is our newest halls of residence, located in North Acton.
Comprised of almost 600 bespoke student rooms arranged in cluster flats each with its own kitchen - and complimented by dedicated common room areas and outdoor spaces - the new community provides an unparalleled first year environment. Rising to 30 storeys, many kitchens and bedrooms enjoy spectacular views of central London and beyond. Located only a two minute walk from North Acton station (Central Line), Kemp Porter Buildings enjoys proximity to other student developments across North Acton as well as easy transport links to campus.
Note to applicants for 2024-25: The area around North Acton is undergoing significant development, including an area of construction next to Kemp Porter. We work closely with developers to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum, but you should anticipate some level of noise and construction traffic at times.

Kemp Porter Buildings offers self-catered accommodation for 701 undergraduate students. Rent includes utility bills, internet access, basic contents insurance, maintenance, communal cleaning and a contribution to the halls activity fund.

Kemp Porter Buildings are located in North Acton, are part of a growing community of over 1,600 science and arts students and is located just a few minutes away from Woodward Buildings.
In order to travel to the South Kensington campus, you will likely be required to take public transport. Alternatively, you will also be able to cycle to South Kensington, which takes between 35-50 minutes.
Kemp Porter Buildings benefits from excellent transport links: it's just a short two minute walk to North Acton tube station which will take you to the South Kensington campus in 40 minutes, Notting Hill in 11 minutes and Oxford Circus in 19 minutes. Five major bus routes are within walking distance, including the 95 bus to Park Royal leisure park's bowling alley (11 minutes). Students can purchase a monthly travelcard, giving unlimited travel across central London (transport zones 1 & 2).
